Daniel Radcliffe is going to take a journey… And if to tell the truth, he will play a role in “The Journey”, a new movie about British photojournalist Dan Eldon. The movie is based on actual events.
Dan Eldon was a 22-year-old who was among the group of journalists stoned to death by a crowd in Mogadishu (July 1993). He was born in Hampstead (London). Then his family moved to Kenya and he was surprised with Africa, he was impressed with its beauty. He started paying his attention to civil conflicts and refugees situation.
In 1992 Dan went to Somalia. Being a representative of Reuters, he saw this situation as it is and made pictures, that draw international attention to this developing problem. But on 12 July 1993 Dan’s things were packed and he was ready to leave Mogadishu. But, suddenly, people came. They were bombed by the UN forces. They asked journalists to take pictures. Dan immediately decided to help them and rushed there. As Dan and his colleagues started taking pictures, people became angry and stoned them to death.
The story is deep, tragic and it’s very interesting to see Radcliffe in such a role.
