One of the most successful writers of the world – J.K. Rowling was said to copy the works of the children’s writer Adrian Jacobs. He sued against Bloomsbury Publishing and he claimed that Rowling “copied” his work in one of her Harry Potter books.
The man wants to stop further sales of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and to start the agency share profits with him. The author claims that the plot of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was rewritten from his book The Adventures of Willy the Wizard-No 1 Livid Land. The book doesn’t have the popularity of Rowling’s books but it has some features that are very much alike with Potter’s books.
For example, the both boys – Wily and Harry are wizards, they compete in a wizard contest which they win, and adventures on train is just one more similarity. The author of the book died penniless in 1997.
Let me tell you that is it not the only one copyright claim made against Rowling. Bloomsbury and Rowling have yet to comment.

I was reading Henrik Ibsen ‘A Doll’s House’ and came across talk about a cloak of invisibility. J. K. Rowling could have stolen this idea for her novels.
ReplyNo she stole that from “The Princess Bride”. No, wait, she stole it from the Shadow…no, wait… maybe an idea can be used more than once without it being “stolen”?
ReplyI’m writing a book myself and I’m afraid that Rowling is going to sue me. I actually cried at the thought of Rowling suing me and I’m not lying I really did cry.
ReplyShe also took the name Hedwig from “A Doll’s House”.
