The most interesting part is that the gap between the Harry Potter author and the next literature’s biggest earner, James Patterson is $250 million!!! Rowling was called a sensation. I love the phrase in Forbes: “ … it was wizardry that transformed JK Rowling from a destitute single mother on welfare into a best-selling billionaire…”
But not only Harry Potter books are selling so good the same situation is with movies. No, frankly speaking, the situation is even better. Harry Potter big screen franchise has already generated $4.5bn and it is not the end … The success is tremendous: her books have sold more than 400 million copies and you can meet them on 67 languages.
