JK Rowling Sued in High Court of England

JK Rowling was sued for stealing ideas form other authors. Frankly speaking, this particular lawsuit seems to be very ridiculous and as to me everyone is always trying to get at least a small piece of this woman’s fortune and talent.

J.K. Rowling is being sued for stealing ideas from another British author. According to the lawsuit J.K. took parts of Jacobs’ 1987 book The Adventures of Willy the Wizard.

Many experts estimate the lawsuit is “a billion-dollar case”. I hope JK will win the case!

Harry Potter Boost UK Cinemas

According to the official data, UK cinema admissions in 2009 were at their highest level since 2002. Sounds amazing and very promising, don’t you think so? But, who is to blame?

As to me, theatres should thank to such blockbuster movies as Harry Potter, Twilight and Avatar. they were of great help when it came to enticing people back to the cinemas.

Just a couple of words about box-office takings:

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince – £50.72m

Avatar – £41.00m

Ice Age III – £35.02m (I love Ice Age. The whole of them).

Deadly ‘Harry Potter’ Plant Found in Garden

A retired couple found an unusual and deadly tropical plant in their own Bristol garden. The plant is called Datura stramomium and it is also known as Devil’s snare, that is highly poisonous plant used by South American Indians for poisoning fishing hooks and other ammunition. Even the seeds of the plant are poisonous and provoke hallucinations.

The plant became popular after JK Rowling featured it in its first book about Harry Potter adventures. The couple wasn’t aware how dangerous this plant is and they though that it was quite attractive.

According to the woman, who pulled some of the dead flowers from the plant, she felt a bit poorly afterwards. Right now the plant should be burnt, even its seeds and dead leaves.

Islamic Word is Against Harry Potter

It has been reported that a couple of Islamic schools situated in the United Kingdom are completely against Western world itself and all things Western culture. Such notions as board games, TV series, music, cricket, football, fashion and even the popular Harry Potter books are considered to be bad and not for students and pupils at all. Most professors really believe that Western culture can be extremely harmful to closed and not so democratic Islamic schools.

Frankly speaking, I don’t understand in what way games and books can be harmful to children. I guess the only one thing they can change is an attitude to life and its understanding. So professors don’t want a new generation to be ambitious and smart, they don’t want young people to have their own opinions and ideas. That’s it! (((

Today a friend of mine has told me that she wants to read Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban. I am always ready to help my friends, that’s why I’ve started looking for this book. But after a couple of hours it turned out that I gave it to somebody.

That is very bad. First of all, I can’t help my friend and then – I DON’T HAVE THIS COOL BOOK ANYMORE. I have to do something. But what should I do? There is no Azkaban in book shops of my city.

Sad News: we will Never Enjoy JK’s Potter Prequel

Not very nice news dear friends, we must say Bye-bye to our dreams that Harry Potter prequel will be turned into a mini-movie. Yesterday the author denied that there was another short story about Harry and his adventures.

Oh I am almost ready to burst into tears, how could it be? I was sure that Rowling would never make it this way. I love these books and movies so much… I can’t imagine my life without them (((

May be we still can hope??? What do you think???
